From April 14th to April 30th, buy a golden ticket to support community health & local restaurants! The goal is to raise $10,000 to support the ARCH programs, including our HIV, PrEP, and trans clinic, our support services for individuals living with HIV, and our community harm reduction program.

When you buy a golden ticket:

• You donate money to ARCH

• Receive a gift card for a partnering restaurant

• Get entered for a Taste for Life Draw!

How to participate?

• When you donate $40, you’ll get a $10 gift card for a partnering restaurant

• When you donate $100, you’ll get a $30 gift card for a partnering restaurant

Jubzi is a social enterprise providing cheaper delivery options in Windsor for local restaurants while also fundraising for Windsor’s Downtown mission

Under the Jubzi model, restaurants pay five per cent of an order to the mission and receive a tax receipt at year’s end. Customers pay a surcharge of 4.9 per cent to Jubzi and the cost of delivery. Delivery costs are $5 for trips up to six kilometres and one dollar per kilometre thereafter. A takeout option on the platform is also available. Jubzi has generated over $100,000 in sales in its first 40 days covering the cost of 1,500 meals for the Downtown Mission. See: https://www.jubzi.com/

The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund was established by RBC in collaboration with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the support of other chambers and partners to help small Canadian businesses with their recovery efforts as a result of COVID-19. Local businesses can also apply for grants of up to $5K that can be used for

Purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, face shields, and latex gloves
Renovating physical space to adhere to local, Provincial or Federal reopening guidelines
Developing or improving e-commerce capabilities for your business

CBRN Small Business Relief Fund will help 62 small Canadian businesses recover and support their resilience, for a total of $620,000 in funds.

Businesses can use the $10,000 grants to support their recovery efforts, including paying salaries, acquiring safety and personal protective equipment for staff, replenishing materials or paying for the measures required to adapt business models to the economic impacts of COVID-19. To be eligible to apply, businesses must:

Be a for-profit company; and,
Belong to a chamber of commerce, board of trade or association that is a member of the Canadian Business Resilience Network; and;
Have between 2 and 50 employees; and,
Have been in business for 2 years as of March 1, 2020; and,
Have an annual revenue between $150,000 CAD and $5,000,000 CAD; and,
Have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; and
Meet the other eligibility criteria set out in the program’s terms and conditions.

Independent movie theatre in Toronto « sells » seats to raise needed funds to survive COVID19-related closure.

To help keep the community engaged and to ensure the Fox Theatre in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood will still be in business once the virus restrictions are lifted, a fundraising campaign was started by the theatre. For $150, plus taxes, community could purchase a plaque with their name on it to be put on seats at the historic theatre. The Fox posted information about the sale on their website and within a short amount of time all 251 seats were « sold ». The theatre later sold naming rights for other parts of the building.

Adopt a Business Challenge to combat economic toll of COVID-19 in Kitchener-Waterloo

As part of its commitment to Kitchener-Waterloo, Sherpa Marketing wants to help by providing $25,000 in professional marketing services to one local company hit by the economic effects of COVID-19. Local Kitchener-Waterloo companies who want to donate their time, products or services can do so by joining the Adopt-A-Business Challenge. Sherpa will evaluate applicants and choose a company in Kitchener-Waterloo most in need. Of particular concern to Sherpa Marketing are all the small businesses that make Kitchener-Waterloo so diverse and vibrant.

Si vous voulez faire un don pour aider un voisin, vous pouvez faire un don en l’ajoutant à votre achat dans les endroits participants ou en faisant un don à FOKM.ca
